Meet Cheshire Food 's very own Beer Stalker, each week our intrepid drinker will scour the pubs of Cheshire to find different brews. Then, once discovered, he'll sample several glasses and bring you his verdict in his own inimitable way........................

This week: Weetwood Eastgate Ale (4.2% ABV)

This fine potion is brewed in a small brewery situated just outside Tarporley, Weetwood Common to be exact, hence the name.

Eastgate is a dark golden beer (apparently brewed especially for the Centenary of Chester's famous Eastgate clock).

It has a faint fruity nose followed by a thin to medium bodied malty flavour with a slight bitter element, it has a good body and excellent mouth feel, giving a nice dry fruit finish/after taste A truly great beer and (I must admit) a personal favourite of mine.

It can be found in many local pubs in Cheshire, why not combine a walk and a pint on a quiet Sunday afternoon, check out the Weetwood website for more details.

Weetwood adds excellent flavour when used for cooking, try our Steak & Weetwood Ale Pie, yummy!

Look out for next month's recommendation, I'll be out there drinking on your behalf.

Yours,

The Cheshire Beer Stalker
