A great way to make your own sausage meat without the need for a sausage machine.

This is the basic recipe, so experiment with other meat, spices and ingredients. Let us have your ideas for all our visitors to try.

Ingredients

900g finely minced pork

2 teaspoons dried sage

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1 pinch ground cloves

 

 

 

 

 

 

Method

  1. In a small, bowl, combine the sage, salt, ground black pepper, marjoram, brown sugar, crushed red pepper and cloves. Mix well.

  2. Place the pork in a large bowl and add the mixed spices to it. Mix well with your hands and form into patties.
  3. Fry the patties in a large heavy based pan over medium high heat for approx. 5 minutes per side, until cooked through and golden brown
